HAPPY CHRISTMAS ,HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

This year's Christmas celebration for me is one of the memorable that I have celebrated in my entire years.Why? is because I am surrounded by family and friends. I received gifts that I never expected that I may be receiving. Received blessings that I do not know if I am worth it. But I guess I am worth it,maybe I have been good through the year , the reason why I am blessed. Blessed with my family, and loved ones.

After the Christmas, the following day it was my mothers birthday. And seeing my mom in good shape and in health is much more than material blessing that she could ever receive. Mom is now forty and nine yet she looks younger in her age. You rock Mom! and yes you are right, you are beautiful than me, Its okay I won't contest to that, you are the most beautiful mother for me.So let's toast to that:)

TODAY IS NATIONAL HEROES DAY

It is a great privilege to me to enjoy  these kind of  Holiday because once upon a time there were brave Filipino Heroes in this land who fought  for my freedom against foreign conqueror. Their blood was spilled in our own ground in exchange for my Independence, my deep gratitude and respect will always be upon them.

And to the heroes that was introduced to me at my early education , I salute the  heroic act you contributed to the history of my home land. You all are extra ordinary. 

Apolinario Mabini-  who despite being physically challenged , unselfishly inked his knowledge for me to have a guide on the First constitution of the Philippine Republic.He serves as the brain of Philippine revolution in 1898.

Emilio Aguinaldo - who became the First leader of the Philippine Republic , He proclaimed the Philippine Independence  on June 12, 1898 at the veranda of his residence in Kawit Cavite.

 Melchora Aquino - more known as Tandang Sora, who in her generosity and love for her countrymen stands as the nurse to the wounded  Filipino's  in revolution . She became the refuge of hungry and sick Katipunero.Her age was 84 when the revolution explode. 

 Andres Bonifacio - Orphan at the age of 14, poor yet has the desire in his heart to break the oppression in the land. He was not able to finish his study, A smart man who loves to read beneficial books like that of  Jose Rizal's work. When J.Rizal was captured in December of 1898, Andres Bonifacio founded the Philippine revolution, the KKK, Kataastaasan, Kagalang galangang ,Katipunan Anak ng bayan. He was known as the Father of the Revolution in 1898.

Dr. Jose P. Rizal - is the National Hero of the Philippines, one of his many novels namely Noli Me Tangere, El Filibusterismo has flamed the heart of many Filipinos in making stand to fight against Spain that oppress the freedom of Filipinos in their own land. He founded the La Liga Filipina , an organization which later gave birth to KKK, headed by A. Bonifacio. J. Rizal was captured and exiled on December of 1898 at Dapitan.  

I know there are nameless Filipino's who fought for the generations to come , that we may now experience what they have not freely acquire in their time. To quote the national Anthem where the lyrics says"

Is victory that is shining.
The Stars and Sun of it
Forevermore shall never dim.

Land of the sun, of glory, and loving,
Life is Heaven in Thine embrace.
'Tis our joy, when there be oppressors,
To die because of Thee.

Amen! Could you imagine how Filipino life will be today without those brave and fearless Filipino ancestors of ours  this land that traded life for the countries freedom?

FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY

I was just thinking this morning were to go later when afternoon heat smile but fortunately , the weather seems to favor the workers rallying outside. It's a cloudy day, meaning staying here in my place is tolerable. I can blog hop all day long and make some updating with less sweating from the sun.

Holiday for me is a bonus work because your day is paid  without working, its a good treat for me for I can do my stuff here without bothering of myself from the pending works I left in the office. If some are happy with holiday like these, some workers are not as it means for them no work no pay. Because the rules only applies to regular working employee in the private and government sectors. Which I hope our congress one day will come up with a resolution on how the contractual and our laborers can enjoy the same  benefit  all the holidays celebrated yearly. Not just on extra vacation that can be called, but also to the dough that they might be receiving as well.  Anyone from the congress here?

BIG BANG FOR NEW YEAR !

My ears is rejoicing this fast few days as I am not hearing a showdown of firecrackers in the neighborhood which usually happens every year. I thank God for that, also for the media. for the campaign ads shown in television , it helps decrease the number of people who are celebrating  the coming of New year with a loud fire crackers. This really means a great celebration for my earwax will be intact in its place tonight. haha.

Hey, Don't feel bad if  cannot celebrate the New Year today as  extravagant as you use to celebrate in the past. I am certain that we can still celebrate the New Years eve without spending too much on food and on firecrackers, what's important is that we are still alive, and healthy. Let's be thankful for that and give back the glory to God. On the other hand less firecrackers will avoid  us from the possibilities of having an incomplete fingers for the coming New year, this way New Year will be welcome with complete arms and intact body parts. Cheers to that!

Don't be fooled if your neighbor say that you need to light up a firecrackers in welcoming the New Years Eve, to scare evil spirits. Come on, and where do you think those legion of bad spirit would go if you  light up the firecrackers outside your yard? maybe they will look for a silent place to live in,  and that place maybe  is the  place where we called it  home. So tonight, if you really want to scare the evil spirits out . Light some  sinturon ni Hudas in the living room,and in kitchen  super pla pla , bedrooms  giant whistle bomb. Lets see if those evil spirit will still have there way. :)

PARTY HERE AND THERE

Blame it on the food that are enticing me every time blessings come. I mean food is overflowing since week one of this month. Though Christmas is yet to come, Birthdays and thanksgiving party reign in my news feeds. Invites seems to overwhelm me.And I'm afraid I do gain weight this month, though my friend Liz, was comforting me making me feel better, telling me it's okay because it's the season of food feasting and party , my this is not funny anymore.I am wondering how many calories now I have stored up in my tummy to think I am not giving myself an exercise and sleeping late. You see, I am well aware I am deviating the healthy way of living but is because there is so much occasions those rules are being override. I need some motivation, hehe. not food motivation, I have to burn the fats that I am feeding my body. 

Today , I was given a free lunch buffet, then came afternoon , a good friend invite me to a free heavy merienda. And did I resist? Oh no, the food was good that I can't take my eyes off them. Forgive me. While Yesterday, It was our small group Christmas party as I have mention on my previous post. And guess what everyone of us looks like pregnant after the food feasting, haha. Why is that I am becoming cookie monster. What to do? Oh, I could rest tomorrow as I have no party to attend, but on Wednesday party is on again and so on. I should have took some picture of mine before those events came and after this month to see the difference. :)

SEASONS GREETING

Who is excited on the coming Holiday in town? I remember  when I was  reminded by some Christmas invitations that I receive from people and organization as early as now, it makes me feel blessed to have receive such invitation to join them and share and participate with there activity in the organization.But before that, like my other colleagues that have also receive invitation, at first we were asking ourselves why it was so early to receive invites. Only to find out and appreciated the thought that it was intended that early for us to plan ahead of our schedules.That now I think is the good thing about planning ahead of time so that you may not overlook some engagement. Happy Holiday, very soon.

UPCOMING CELEBRATION

July 01, will again mark in the Independence of Canadian people who will celebrate the statutory holiday called  Canada Day in commemoration of enactment of British North America Act. Which united three British colonies into a single country called  Canada. 

It will surely be a colorful fun day to all the citizens of Canada, like other countries who celebrates their National Day. After the program an outdoor activity is held like parades , games, foods, even fireworks  usually takes place with this kind of Holiday Celebration.

LENTEN SEASON

Official holiday started yesterday , It feels good to relax and pause for a while from work. Long vacation is so wonderful to spent, this has been the reason why during this holiday that travel is high. Vacationers grab the chance to go home in their provinces to spent time with loved ones and friends. But what is most in demand during this long break from work is the beaches and resort. High places in the country that is cold, like Baguio City and Tagaytay. In some areas like Antipolo it is also cold specially in the evening.

But what is holy week to us? Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday? . When I was a child, living under  grand parents care During holy week, the house seemed to be so lonely and sad as for my observation that time. We don't eat meat, we are not encourage to eat heavy meals. My uncles and Aunt's are asked to fast, and pray. My aunt's attention will be called by my Lolo when she founds to be happy and laughing in the day which God is said to be already transported in his tomb. My Lolo would said, it is not proper to be joyful when God is suffering and dead because of our sins. We grew up observing lenten season that way, until my Aunt and uncles have their own family and my Lolo past away. Looking back with the tradition we have before, I could say, that my Lolo was trying his best to preserve the holiness of God's time when he died for us in the cross. But have we know it before that God has died once, and not every year that some of us still believes on. I have no right to condemn others from their practices if its there devotion or "panata"  we all have devotions anyway, but if its not pleasing to God, then its useless. My concern is that, we reflect and talk with God first before doing rituals and tradition that we inherit from our ancestors. God bless us all, and Happy Holy week

BRIGHT IS THE NIGHT

Christmas season is one of the celebration of the year I always look forward to, why ? because during this season , the spirit of giving , loving, remembering, friendship , family , and touching the lives of others is so alive. Everyone is preparing to give what they can share and what blessing they could impart with their neighbors. Also the lights are sparkling everywhere, Christmas lights with different colors never go out of trend in Christmas season, and I just love it. It adds up happiness in my heart seeing people serenading each houses, trying to complete the misa de gallo , I hope this tradition during Christmas will never be forgotten in the next generation.

HOLIDAY TODAY

Thank God, its holiday today. Its a blessing to have an extra day of rest during the weekdays, in this way I can do my thing without worrying of my paper works and deadlines in the office. I have time to update my posting here, visit my blogger friends and have movie marathon in my delight. I don't need to worry for the food for the day, My God has already provided me bread and water to drink. 

I have no plans of  leaving the house today, I'm good in front of my monitor. I will let pass the day without any complication, just leave the clock running, while I enjoy my extra vacation. If you'll asked me if I don't get bored here inside my room? my answer is NO, because I can make myself productive anyway. I still have pending books to read, I have story to blog , I have movies waiting to be played , I have room to clean  up, I have music to played and the net to browse. There's a lot of things that I feel like doing today, but as I've said earlier I will let my body decides what it feels like doing, as long as its not against me.

SEASON'S GREETINGS

The tick tack of the clock is reminding everyone that the season of love is approaching near, Wow! I'm sure some of us is already buying gifts to give on Christmas because they are avoiding the traffic when holiday is just a few weeks away. I myself is one of the busy bee when times like this comes,I make sure to list down all the people I am going to give gifts. And my and my family christmas gift ideas is to look for those stuff that are closed to their heart, aside from the presence that I could offer, my love and my affection to my family is also one of my coolest gift for them. My niece and nephews are first on the list in this season of joy and love, as my parents would always mention before that , Christmas is mostly enjoyed by the children and I would like to agree. :-)

CHRISTMAS IS FAST APPROACHING

We are now in the second week of September and next day you know its Christmas time again. Time is running fast and before I make complaints again for the hassles and traffic in the metro and the crowded scenes in every malls and bazaar area, I am now planning to buy gifts for Christmas which I will be handing to my loved ones. Cards, accessories, toys , beauty care and other stuff that I can share on Christmas gift giving time.

When I was a kid, I appreciate the yuletide season a lot maybe because they say, Christmas is for kids. Children receive countless gifts from their God mother and God father and their Parents. These are one of the things that I like about Christmas, giving and receiving. It has been a tradition during the birth of Christ the king.

I hope that everyone is not forgetting also that we celebrate Christmas because we believe that Christ was born and is willing to give His all to those who believes and welcome Him as our personal savior.Amen!

HOLIDAY TODAY

 Oh speaking of Holidays, I love it. I'm one of the millions of people who are always looking forward of Holidays, already counting those days that are free of work even if the official notice for legal holidays are not yet furnished. haha. Because during Holidays I get to enjoy my  peace and freedom. You see I work five days a week so if there are Holidays falls on working days, I take that as a bonus that is worth spending to bond with family, or just have a good breath at home. Like what I did today. I spent the holiday inside the house and didn't bother myself going out somewhere. I had my music played the whole day while I rested in the living room. What a good day, I was able to refresh and get laid alone without restriction. Thank you God,for this wonderful day.

HOLIDAYS TO COME

Yuletide season is yet to come, Have you notice how time pass by? so fast , right? when I think of Christmas, it gives me mixed emotions of joy and gladness. Because it is when during Christmas, children see Santa claus, it is also the time when gift giving is everywhere. A time where love is in the air. I'm not saying that during Christmas,its only the time were we show our love to our loved ones and neighbors , but it is more given emphasize during this season. The air of Christmas is so different, and I just love it.Big malls, parks and other establishment have their C7 led christmas lights that adds up beauty to the night. Even in our own houses, we buy decors and other stuff for our Christmas tree at home. These are only one of  the few ways we do,in preparation and welcoming the Holiday season. Next month its going the be start of the BER" months. Wow, the fact excites me.Happy Holidays in advance.

HOLY WEEK

Holy week, falls on the first week of April 2010 making Thursday and Friday holiday. Meaning I have a long weekend to look forward, I've been longing this long weekends to come and now I am enjoying it. If not for these celebration  I don't know when will be my next long vacation. Thank be for the Holy week. Thursday I was able to do all my to do list and have rest the whole day without having any worries for the following day. Friday, I have my silent time with God, reflecting my life and my savior. I remember, I decided to have my water baptism  last March 5,2010 at the pool of Manor Hotel, which I am employed. I don't want to exaggerate my holy week, I spent my  holidays at home, reading , eating and reflecting, acknowledging His unconditional love for man. Great is the Lord isn't it? To God all be the glory!

Some celebrate the week with a bang, some stayed at home some travel and spent the week out of towns , some just spent their week at home. I did celebrate the week at home to give myself time to reflect and be free from the crowd outside. Today, even if I wish to go out I can't do it because the whole compounds path walk is under construction. Workers are concreting the hallway,making the grounds higher for an inch. Well, the owner of the apartments I guess realize that wet season is coming; so she is just preparing us for the floods.How sweet of her. 

I heard black Saturday is the day where all big establishments in the city will resume their operations. No wonder, my friend texted me today, and ask me  if the mall is already open. Silly, they keep on asking me as if I know the malls notice. But because I heard malls are open on Saturday, I told them what I knew. I have no plans today aside from blog hopping and sleep, my day will be spent here alone in my room. I prefer it this way, noiseless; tomorrow I will have my way home to visits my parents and see my beloved  niece and nephews.  How about you? how did you spend your week and where?

OUTREACHED PROGRAM

It is a Legal Holiday today so  more employees are thankful for an additional vacation. I'm one of them, but i did not spent my time today here in front of my personal computer, instead I joined my singles group on their outreached program for the children living under depressed area. The program lasted only for 2 1/2 hours. We have 75 participants children ages 4 - 10, we played games with them after the feeding session and give prizes to those who won the games.  I just realized that it is not easy to be a teacher . I just say so, because of my experience today, when i reached home my body was totally tired. Well, I am not complaining just sharing my thoughts of my activity this morning.  I will try to post here the pictures of those children we  had fun today . I'd surely love to post them as soon as i have the copies of our pictures.
