FACING THE TRUTH

Last Thursday, my former boss and I had chance to have lunch together. He was still insisting his offer to me , to come back in his department. Well, if only I could,  why not?. But of course I have this what you called "delikadesa" , My new department is just a 4 rooms away from my previous department. And because they say, I'm the lucky one that was eyed to fill in the vacant position on the department I am into now, the negotiation was done. I was blinded by the offer and started to dream big. I decided to move out of my comfort zone and take the challenge. The very flattering actions that my former boss did , just to make me stay includes talking to the son and daughter of the company we are into. And because the daughter, CFO, knows me and she was handling the department I am about to transfer, she talked to me and asked my real feelings on the matter. So,the final verdict, my former boss gave me the blessing to transfer. It was the hardest thing to do, because I really love the group and as I've said they were my comfort zone.

Going back to my story, last Thursday, I told my former boss I am on leave the next day, so he asked me why and I told him the truth. I said , I am attending an interview. He was somehow shocked and pause eating his lunch and advice me again. But I told him, my decision is final and I am on search of a new job. And blaming me why I am so stubborn and did not listen to them when they say don't transfer,  will not help really.  So he give me a deep sigh and a tap on my shoulder. Anyway, I have no regrets leaving the group, as much as I wanted to challenge myself and discover new potential that I am capable of doing beyond my knowledge. I know my new boss had seen my potential , but things does not only evolve in  merely performance and competency at work. How about working relationship? and that was my issue. I was struggling. But thank God, I was able to overcome as months go by. But even if I have manage to make up and reconcile my working relationship with my superior, and honestly I could say, good things happen after , and yet I don't find myself staying  anymore  in my current work for the longest term. I have stop dreaming with the group and had found myself wanting to continue my dreams outside. And so my search for change starts now.

Somehow I can relate to your story. I'm about to leave my current team right now. But one good thing is that Me and my boss are in good terms, he understands my concerns and he gives me the freedom to choose the path that I want to track to achieve my my career goals.

The Bible says, "Unless the Lord builds the house its builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1). It is best to consult the Lord first before you make any career moves so that your actions will be in accordance with God's will. And of course, success will surely follow. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
